Lot 351. 10 Starting Lineup Figures – 4 Cubs, 5 BoSox, and a Jim Thome Figurine. All figures are mint in unopened packages. Chicago Cubs figures for 1988 are Andre Dawson, Leon Durham, Ryne Sandberg and Rick Sutcliffe. Dawson is present also in the 1990 edition. The 1990 package has a small corner crease. The others have one or two creases visible primarily on the back, and the 1988 Dawson and Sandberg packages have “Toys R’ Us” sales stickers; the tag on the Dawson package is partially removed. Boston Red Sox figures are all from 1988: Wade Boggs, Ellis Burks, Roger Clemens, Dwight Evans and Jim Rice. The package for the Burks figure is crease-free with curving at the top. The Boggs package has a small, light crease on the back. The three others show creases on the front. The Thome figurine is a 2005 limited edition premium from the Philadelphia Phillies, Jeep and Chrysler. Produced by BD&A, the 7.5” figurine is mint and unused in the original box, which is vg-ex. Thome is one of seven Hall of Fame players in this collection. Eighth on MLB’s all-time home run list, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018. Minimum Bid $15.
