Jan Beliveau Autograph on the Cover of the Jan. 23, 1956 Issue of “Sports Illustrated.” The magazine describes 24-year-old Beliveau as “one of those rare skating phenomenons which turn up on the hockey scene once in a decade” and presents seven pages, four filled with photos, on the Montreal Canadiens, the NHL’s best team. During his Hall of Fame career, Beliveau played on 10 championship teams for Montreal and was a six-time first-team All-Star. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1972. He died in 2014.
