Lot 52. 1936 Wheaties Football Coaches – Notre Dame Four Horsemen QB Harry Stuhldreher. Cut from a Wheaties box, this card is generally considered to be the most difficult in this set to obtain. Measuring 6 1/16” x 7 15/16,” it has very slightly irregular borders, a crease along the bottom half of the right side and “49” written on the blank back. Vg. A member of the College Football Hall of Fame, Stuhldreher was a three-time All-American at Notre Dame as quarterback of the famous “Four Horsemen” backfield from 1922-24. He played professionally in 1926 for the Brooklyn Horsemen/Lions. From 1925-35, he was head coach at Villanova, and from 1936-48, at Wisconsin. He is in the College Hall of Fame. Winning Bid $35.
