13 Cards Issued Autographed by Leaf or Bowman – 5 Signed by Pete Rose, 1 by Micah Johnson.

Lot 47. 13 Cards Issued Autographed by Leaf or Bowman – 5 Signed by Pete Rose, 1 by Micah Johnson. In 2012, Leaf issued a set of 13 “Living Legend” cards autographed by Rose. The five offered here are AU-16, AU-28, AU-35, AU-39 and AU-46. Each card has a different b&w photo on the front. Rose remains MLB’s all-time leader in hits. His other accomplishments and awards include Rookie of the Year, MVP, three batting titles, two Gold Gloves and three World Series rings. Johnson signed a Bowman 2014 Inception card, PA-MJ. After limited success as a second baseman with the White Sox, Dodgers and Braves, Johnson launched a successful career as an artist. His works have been featured in articles in “Sports Illustrated” and other publications. The seven other autographs are from Topps’ Bowman Chrome issues – a 2015 card of Trevor Gott, BCAP-TGO, and six 2014 cards of Ryan Ripken, BCA-RR. Used in relief, Gott has posted a 12-4 record in five seasons with the Angels, Nationals and Giants. Ripken, Cal’s son, has been a first baseman and designated hitter in the minors. Authenticity is guaranteed by the card manufacturers. The signatures are mint 9 and gem mint 10. Winning Bid $152.
