Lot 338. Autographs of 2 Top College Basketball Coaches – John Wooden and Pat Summitt. Each signed a biographical hardback book. Each is in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The UCLA coach’s signature is in “They Call Me Coach,” by Wooden as told to Jack Tobin, 1972,gem mint 10 autograph, nm book, vg+ to ex dust jacket. In the 27 years Wooden was UCLA's head coach, his teams won 10 national championships, including seven in a row in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was in the inaugural class of the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006. In 38 seasons as the head coach at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Pat Summitt led her teams to a 1,098-208 record, 31 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, and eight national championships. She was named the Naismith Coach of the Century in 2000. Her gem mint 10 autograph is on the flyleaf of “The Summitt Season,” written by Nancy E. Lay, 1989 first edition, nm to nm-m book, ex+ dust jacket. Lay also signed the flyleaf. Wooden and Summitt are widely regarded as the best all-time college coaches of, respectively, male and female basketball. Wooden passed away in 2010, and Summitt, in 2016. PSA/DNA Pre-Certified.
