1941 Comiskey Park Official Score Card – White Sox vs. Red Sox.

Lot 309. 1941 Comiskey Park Official Score Card – White Sox vs. Red Sox. This two-page score card is in very nice condition – unscored and vg+ to ex with light stains and minor creasing. Inside are pre-printed lineups for a game between the host White Sox and the Boston Red Sox. For Chicago, Luke Appling is listed at shortstop. For Boston, Dom DiMaggio is shown as the lead-off batter and center fielder, with Ted Williams, in left field, batting third. Joe Cronin, the manager and shortstop, and Jimmy Foxx are also in the lineup. Williams batted .406 in 1941. Little did anyone know at season’s end that two months later, on Dec. 7, the attack on Pearl Harbor would interrupt and alter the careers of many baseball players, including Williams. Minimum Bid $15.
