Nolan Ryan Outstanding Autograph on a 1975 “Sporting News” Cover.

Lot 200. Nolan Ryan Outstanding Autograph on a 1975 “Sporting News” Cover. Mint 9 to gem mint 10 blue Sharpie signature on the cover of the full May 17, 1975 edition. Ryan is shown on the mound, and his autograph, silhouetted against off-white paper, has gorgeous eye appeal. The tabloid shows some toning along the edges and has three relatively light creases at the left toward the bottom of the cover. Ryan was a first-ballot Hall of Fame inductee in 1999. Despite playing for predominantly weak teams, he won 324 games. His accomplishments also include seven no-hitters, 61 shutouts and 5,714 strikeouts – 1,578 more than Steve Carlton, who is second on the all-time list. Outstanding display item featuring one of baseball’s best ever. Winning Bid $45.
