Ernie Banks Mint 9 to Gem Mint 10 Autograph on a 16” x 20” Color Photo.

Lot 179. Ernie Banks Mint 9 to Gem Mint 10 Autograph on a 16” x 20” Color Photo. In 1999, “The Sporting News” ranked Banks as the 38th best baseball player of the 20th century. He was an All-Star in 11 of 17 full seasons, including eight consecutively, and the N.L. MVP in 1958 and 1959. He led the N.L. twice in home runs and runs batted in. Despite changes in the game, he still ranks among the top 25 home run hitters of all time, and only 32 players have driven in more runs. In 1977, his first year of eligibility, he was elected to the Hall of Fame. Banks died in 2015. His signature in this photo is bold atop his white jersey. A 2009 JSA Letter of Authenticity rates it a 9.5. Light creases throughout the photo are evident depending on lighting. Correctly framed, this photo and autograph will become an outstanding display item of one of baseball’s best players and ambassadors. Winning Bid $50.
