Lot 124. Assortment of 46 Baseball Cards, 1927-73, Plus a 1969 Set of Playing Cards. Cards in this collection are from Kahn’s, Fleer, Topps and other sources. The earliest card is a 1927 W512 of Everett Scott, #7 in the set, with the Chicago White Sox. This strip card is 1 5/16” x 2 5/16”, neatly cut from a sheet of cards, and vg-ex. Here is a list of the other cards: 1938 Cincinnati Reds team issue, Gamble, p. FLEER (22): 1959 Ted Williams, #11 Williams with Foxx f-g, 21 p, 23 vg, 45 f and 51 p. 1963 #10 vg-ex, 22 Kaat f, 24 f-g, 26 Terry p, 32 Santo p-f, 33 (4) one is vg-ex the other 3 are p-f, 35 g-vg, 44 vg, 55 Burgess vg+, 59 Mazeroski p, 60 Boyer (2) one is f the other p and 62 p. 1972 Baseball’s Famous Feats, #25 Ott vg-ex. KAHN’S (17): 1964, Alvis f, Harper vg+, Nuxhall g, Purkey vg+, Virdon vg-ex and Wagner (2) one is vg the other is g. 1965, Coleman f, Jay f, Lemaster vg, Oliver vg and Pagliaroni p. 1966, Johnson ex, Maloney (white hat) vg-ex, McCool (white hat) ex, and Pinson ex+. (These 4 cards are without the Kahn’s tab and are irregularly trimmed at the bottom). 1967, Pavletich vg-ex. TOPPS (4): 1962, #29 Stengel, p. 1969 Deckle Edge, #5 vg-ex, 14 vg-ex and 19 Santo g. SPORT HOBBYIST: 1971 T-206 Series, Abstein, Bradley and Bresnahan, overall ex. TMCA: 1973, J. E. Clapp, reprinted from Harper’s Weekly vg-ex. The playing card set of 52 was issued by Globe Imports in 1969. These blank-back cards are approximately 1 11/16” x 2 ¼” and feature black & white player photos on white paper slightly thicker than paper commonly used for printing. Among the players are Mays, Rose, Banks, Seaver and both Robinsons. This set is consistent with a Beckett checklist; it does not include the Mickey Mantle variation for the ace of spades. The set is nm to nm-m. Winning Bid $45.
