Lot 102. 1910-1911 T3 Turkey Red Cabinet #83 Al Bridwell. A pugnacious shortstop, Bridwell played for six different teams in Cincinnati, Boston, New York, Chicago and St. Louis. While playing for the Giants, he was suspended after punching the future HoF manager John McGraw in the nose. One source puts the suspension at two games, and another, at two weeks. A strip of 5/8” linen tape across the back of the card at the top pushes it into p territory. Without the tape, the card would grade g. An area of foxing ¼” wide runs along the front border of the card. The upper right corner has a 1¼” crease, and the lower right corner is slightly chipped. The eye-appeal of Bridwell’s image is strong. This cabinet card features the rarer “Turkey Red Cigarettes” back. Winning Bid $83.
