Lot 307.  Dr. J, Magic Johnson, Bob Knight, Gary Payton and Dean Smith Autographs. These signatures are nm-m 8 and better on unlined index cards. Erving signed as “Julius ‘Dr J’ Erving” and dated the signature 12/88. All but Payton are in the basketball Hall of Fame. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 308.  Autograph of Tom Heinsohn, Hall of Fame Boston Celtic, on the Oct. 26, 1964 SI. Vg-ex issue with label. Sharpie gem mint 10 signature. In nine seasons with Boston, Heinsohn played on eight championship teams. He led the talent-rich Celtics in scoring three times. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1986. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 309.  1989-90 New Jersey Nets Signed Basketball, Early 1990s Miami Heating Signed Pennant. The full-sized pennant, which is vg+ and looks better, has nm-m 8 autographs of John Salley, Harold Miner, Alec Kessler, Willie Burton, Matt Geiger, Al Ogg and four others. Ogg, who died in 2009, was on the 1991-92 team, along with Kessler and Burton. Salley, Miner, Kessler, Burton and Geiger were teammates in 1992-93. This New Jersey Nets team wasn’t very good, but the players have done much better than most at signing a basketball. The autographs are nm-m 8 and better on this MacGregor XL 1000 mint ball. Two players each neatly signed six panels. The signers are Dennis Hopson, Mookie Blaycock, Stanley Brundy, Purvis Short, Lester Conner, Chris Morris, Charles Shakleford, Jack Haley, Bowie, Jaren Jackson, Roy Hinson and J B (Joe Barry) Carroll. Hobson, Morris and Short were the team’s leading scorers, while Bowie, Shackleford and Morris were the leading rebounders. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
