Lot 2.  Complete 1952 Bowman Set. This is a very attractive collector set with almost two-thirds of the cards ex or better. Here is the breakdown: Nm, 13 cards. Ex-m+, 21 cards including #21 Fox, 75 Kell and 232 Slaughter. Ex-m, 34 cards including #11 Kiner, 30 Schoendienst, 128 Newcombe, 142 Wynn and 196 Musial. Ex+, 37 cards. Ex, 60 cards including #1 Berra, 4 Roberts, 27 Garagiola rookie, 52 Rizzuto, 115 Doby, 116 Snider. Vg-ex, 38 cards including #5 Minoso, 8 Reese, 43 Feller, 53 Ashburn, 80 Hodges, 101 Mantle and 217 Stengel. Vg, 30 cards including #23 Lemon, 44 Campanella and 218 Mays. G-vg, 8 cards. Good, 11 cards including #145 Mize, 156 Spahn, 162 Irvin and 252 Crosetti. A word about the Mantle card: You’re likely to find Mantle cards graded ex or even ex-m that are less attractive than the Mantle in this set, which we have graded vg-ex. The centering of this card is within a hair’s width or two of perfection. The colors are bright, and the card is free of printing imperfections except for a pencil-point-sized dot on Mantle’s hat. The corners are consistent with at least an ex-m card. The card has a small crease in the lower left corner, and there are several tiny indentations in the upper right visible only when the card is held at the correct angle to light. There is a minor wax stain on the back. If you’re a collector, you’ll like this set.
Winning Bid $5,069.

Lot 3.  1936 R311 Glossy Partial Set of 19 out of 27. Includes Averill vg-ex, Bottomley vg-ex, Cochrane vg-ex, Cronin vg-ex, Dean vg, Dykes ex, Frisch ex, Greenberg vg-ex, Terry vg-ex, Traynor ex, 1935 American League All-Stars vg, 1934 American League Pennant Winners (Tigers) ex+, Boston Red Sox (sky visible) ex, 1935 Chicago White Sox ex-m, 1934 Columbus Red Birds ex (short print), 1935 National League All-Stars vg-ex, 1935 New York Yankees ex, 1935 St. Louis Browns ex-m, 1934 World Champions (Cardinals) vg-ex.
Winning Bid $366.

Lot 4.  1947 Boston Red Sox Picture Pack Set of 25, Original Envelope. This issue contains three Hall of Fame members - Joe Cronin nm-m+, Bobby Doerr nm-m+ and Ted Williams nm-m+. The envelope is a very nice vg example. Overall, the set is nm-m.
Winning Bid $134.

Lot 5.  Scarce 1949 Eureka Sportstamp Near Set of 199 in the Original Album. Only Ford Frick is missing. The cover of this “National League Edition” album has an ex appearance. The Scranton, Pa., company never produced an American League album. In general, the stamps are neatly glued in place. The Elbie Fletcher stamp is stained, and so is the obverse of the page containing it. Clearly, the album belonged to a young collector, who made pencil notations on most of the pages. These notations have been erased; impressions from the writing remain. The album contains solid stamps of such stars as Warren Spahn, Pee Wee Reese, Ralph Kiner, Stan Musial, Leo Durocher, Ted Kluszewski, Johnny Mize, Richie Ashburn, Joe Garagiola, Enos Slaughter and Red Schoendienst. It also contains rookie stamps of Don Newcombe, Johnny Antonelli, Roy Campanella, Robin Roberts, Gil Hodges, Duke Snider and Jackie Robinson.
Winning Bid $100.

Lot 6.  55 Different 1963 M118 Baseball Magazine Premiums Including One Uncataloged. This collection averages ex+. These 8 ½” x 11” blank-backed premiums feature sepia photos. The Beckett “Almanac” checklist considers the set complete at 88. The checklist, however, does not include Robin Roberts, who is among the premiums offered here. Our complete offering: Adcock, Allison, Altman, Aparicio vg+ to ex, Ashburn vg+ to ex, Barber, Battey, Berra ex, Bunning ex, Cash, Cepeda ex+, Colavito, Daniels, Duren, Face, Fox ex-m+, Francona, Friend, Groat, Hansen, Held, Howser, Jay, Jensen, Walter Johnson ex-m, Killebrew ex-m, Kirkland, Koufax ex+, Kluszewski, Landis (trimmed), Long, Lumpe, Malzone, Mays ex, Moon, Musial ex+, Neal, Pascual, Pearson, Piersall, Pinson, Robin Roberts ex, Frank Robinson ex+, Runnels, Babe Ruth ex+, Santo, Siebern, Snider ex+, Spahn vg-ex, Stengel ex+, Lee Thomas, Bill White, Ted Williams ex, Woodling, and Wynn vg+ to ex.
Winning Bid $218.

Winning Bid $354.

Winning Bid $75.

Lot 9.  2 1964 Topps Giants - Bob Clemente, Dick Stuart - SGC-Graded Nm-M 88. The cards are #11 and 42. The Stuart card is a short print.
Winning Bid $50.

Lot 10.  1964 Topps Giants Card #51 Willie Mays Graded Nm-M 88 by SGC. This short print of Mays is nicely centered with strong corners and color.
Winning Bid $90.

Lot 11.  1964 Topps Giants Card #25 Mickey Mantle Graded Ex-Nm 80 by SGC. Difficult to see what separates this card from nm.
Winning Bid $30.

Lot 12.  3 1964 Topps Giants Graded Nm 84, 1 Graded Nm+ 86 by SGC. Very strong examples. Nm 84: #3 Koufax, 47 Cisco, 49 Aaron. The Cisco and Koufax cards are single prints. Nm+ 86: #41 Bob Gibson. The Gibson card is perfectly centered with strong corners and great color.
Winning Bid $60.

Lot 13.  1967 Dexter Press Partial Set of 183 out of 228. This collection includes the major stars - Aaron, Clemente, Kaline, Mantle, Mays and Rose. The Schall card is missing, and it’s questionable whether it should be considered part of the set. Also missing are the All-Stars; Aker, Charles, Chavarria, Krausse, Nash and Roof of the Athletics; Alley, Fryman, Law, Mazeroski, Mota and Pagliaroni of the Pirates; all of the Orioles except the Robinsons; and all of the Senators. The Astros, Braves, Cubs, Dodgers, Giants, Indians, Mets, Phillies, Reds, Red Sox, Tigers, Twins, White Sox and Yankees are complete. This group is three-fourths of the set. A small number of cards exhibit foxing on one or more of the borders. The near-set averages ex+ to ex-m with some cards better, some less.
Winning Bid $636.

Lot 14.  1967 Dexter Press Premiums All-Stars Set of 12. The players are: Bunning, Clemente, Willie Davis, Kaline, Killebrew, Mays, Pepitone, Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson, Santo, Torre and Yastrzemski. There is a slight bit of paper loss on the reverse of Clemente; otherwise, this subset is ex-m to nm. The 2006 Standard Catalog values this group in nm condition at $110.
Winning Bid $92.

Lot 15.  1968 Dexter Press Set of 77 Postcards. The fronts of these cards have been very slightly affected by the plastic pages that held them. Still very nice and ex-m.
Winning Bid $218.
