Lot 199. Original 1907 Coca-Cola Color Ad Featuring Napoleon Lajoie. This is one of the earliest advertisements with a baseball player endorsing a non-sports product. It's also the first color ad of a player plugging any product. Taken from a publication, the 6 ¾” x 10 7/8” ad has some chips along the edges. The image area itself is free of creases and has the Cleveland Hall of Famer saying: “I drink Coca-Cola regularly and have been doing so for years. It is the best, most refreshing beverage an athlete can drink.”

Lot 203. Baseball Hall of Fame Collection Including Postcards, Decorative Plates. The 10” plates, issued 1940s-50s, present two different views of the Hall of Fame. One was broken and repaired, while the other is ex. Accompanying the plates is a 1948 official booklet that provides a brief history of baseball and of the HoF’s development. In black & white, it shows the plaques of enshrines. An early 1960s booklet contains eight color postcards that are somewhat smaller than regular pcs. Of eight regular-sized postcards, four show HoF exterior views, one has an interior view, two picture Abner Doubleday, and one provides an aerial view of Doubleday Field. Ex.

Lot 204. New York Giants “Shot Heard ‘Round the World’” Bat and Ball Collection. The moment in baseball history is legendary. On Oct. 3, 1951 at the Polo Grounds, in a tie-breaker game to decide the National League Championship, Ralph Branca relieved Brooklyn pitcher Don Newcombe in the bottom of the ninth. The Dodgers led, 4-2. With one out and two runners on base, Bobby Thomson came to bat for the Giants. Branca’s first pitch was a strike, a fastball on the outside corner. Branca’s next pitch was a high and inside fastball. Thomson sent the pitch over the left-field fence, only 279 feet away, and the Giants were on their way to the World Series after a 5-4 victory. One Cooperstown Bat commemorate the event, and another captures the Giants’ illustrious history at the Polo Grounds. The first pictures Branca and Thomson, who have signed it in sharpie. The bat is nm-m, and the signatures are 10 of 10. The second bat, part of the Cooperstown Stadium Series, pictures the Polo Grounds and provides a brief history. Nm-m. This collection also features an Official N.L. baseball signed by Thomson on the sweet spot. He added, “The Shot Heard ‘Round the World’” and “Oct. 3, 1951.’” Nm-m ball with a 10 signature.

Lot 207. Scarce New York Mets 1969 “National League Champs” Color-Photo Pennant. On the back, the photo is attributed to “The Button House” of Winona Minnesota. All the players are identified. The front of the full-sized pennant says “New York Mets” with “Champions” and “’69.” Pennant is vg with a g photo held in place with tape on the back. Very scarce!

Lot 208. 1969 New York Mets “World Champions” Color-Photo Pennant. Bright, colorful full-sized pennant pictures the “1969 World Champion New York Mets,” with all players identified on the front. Photo is g and the pennant shows wear, particularly on the orange stripe at the left. The white background is generally clean and bright.

The pins are for the 1981 Yankees, 1982 Brewers vs. Cardinals, 1983 Orioles vs. Phillies, 1984 Tigers vs. Padres, 1985 Royals vs. Cardinals, 1987 Twins vs. Cardinals and 1988 Dodgers. The 1984 pins are ex. The others are nm-m in their original boxes. (Two of the plastic boxes are damaged; the pins are not affected.)

Lot 210. Original Baseball All-Star Game Press Pins - 1983, 1985 and 1986. The Chicago White Sox hosted the 1983 game. The 1985 and 1986 games were in Minnesota and Houston, respectively. Limited Edition Sculpture Capturing Norman Rockwell’s “Bottom of the Sixth.” Rockwell’s painting of three umpires, Brooklyn’s Clyde Sukeforth and Pittsburgh’s Billy Meyer adorned the cover of the April 23, 1949 Saturday Evening Post. This 1986 edition of 5,000 from the Norman Rockwell Museum provides a three-dimensional representation of the scene. The original tags are here for this porcelain sculpture, about 7” high x 9” wide x 6” deep. The sculpture sits on a wood base. Nm-m, original box.

Lot 212. 5 Bradford Exchange Plates, 4 from the “Great Moments in Baseball” Series. The “Great Moments” plates are: “Billy Martin: The Rescue Catch,” Carl Hubbell: The 1934 All-Star Game,” “Enos Slaughter: The Mad Dash,” and “Dizzy Dean: The World Series Shutout.” The fifth plate, “Tris Speaker: The Gray Eagle,” is from the “Legends of Baseball” series. Certificates of Authenticity accompany the Martin and Slaughter plates. These plates are nm-m without the original boxes.

Produced in 1972 by the National Archive of Illustration and Advertising Art, the Rockwell print is on 12 ½” x 16” canvas. Nm and far more attractive than the typical print on paper.
