Lot 274.  1917 Wills “Allied Army Leaders” Set of 50 Cards. Presenting portraits on the fronts and biographical information on the backs, these cards include Generals Foch and Petain, King George V of England and Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. The set averages vg.

Lot 275.  17 Different 1920s-40s Cowboy or Western Exhibit Cards – Hoppy, 5 Roy Rogers, Etc. Four cards depict warfare between Indians and settlers. The 13 others have images of big-screen cowboy stars: Roy Rogers (5, including on with Trigger); Gabby Hayes, Gary Cooper, William Boyd (Hopalong Cassidy), Bill Elliott, John King, Ken Maynard, Charles Starrett and Russell Hayden. Lot 277.  1924 Ogden’s “Leaders of Men” Set of 50 Color Cards. Wonderful, diverse set with color portraits on the front and biographies on the back. Historical figures include Attila, Charlemagne, Columbus, Captain Cook, Cromwell, Darwin, Galileo, Hannibal, Joan of Arc, Julius Caesar, Lincoln, Lord Nelson, Peter the Great, Plato and George Washington. The set is generally a mix of vg and vg-ex cards.

Lot 278.  1924 Wills “Merchant Ships of the World” and 1939 Player “Modern Naval Craft” Sets. Each set contains 50 cards with an image of a ship on the front and information on the back. Among the merchant vessels are the S.S. America, S. S. George Washington and the S. S. Leviathan. Naval ships include the H.M.S. Hood and the Sunfish, the Admiral Graf Spee, the Nagato of Japan and the Colorado. The “Modern Naval Craft” cards have adhesive backs. The “Merchant Ships of the World” set averages vg-ex. The “Modern Navel Craft” set averages vg+ to ex.
