Lot 163.  Multi-Sport Grab Bag – Clemens Hat, Football and Track & Field Labels, NFL Mug. 1. 8 ¾” x 12” Sunkist label featuring runners in a stadium, ex-m. 2. 9” x 9” football Champ Brand label for Louisiana sweet potatoes and yams, ex-m; 1920s-30s style football artwork. 3. 1969 NFL 50th anniversary 6 ¼” tall plastic insulated mug. Has logos of the NFL and AFL teams. 4. Boston baseball cap with a Roger Clemens facsimile autograph, nm-m.

Lot 164.  Hockey, Football and Baseball Mini-Grab Bag. Hockey is represented by a complete vg to vg+ Monarch Official Hockey Puck box containing a vg-ex puck. The football entry is a 1951 Bowman card of #57 Jon Baker. The card has a number added to the back and otherwise is f-g. There are three Topps baseball cards from 1958, #223 vg-ex, 227 p, and 356 p, and four from 1959, #109 f, 244 (2) one g-vg and one f, and 251 Clete Boyer vg. One Topps card from 1957 and three each from 1958 and 1959 have writing on the back, typically a number or “TB.” The front of 1958T #238 Mazeroski grades vg-ex. The fronts of the others average g-vg.

Lot 183.  Attractive 1910s Thos. E. Wilson & Co. W575 “League Regulation” Decal Bat. This 31” bat has 8 ½” of tape along the handle. About two-thirds of the logo remains, and it is clearly readable. There are small chips on the knob and one small chip on the end. A very displayable example of an early Thos. E. Wilson bat.

Lot 184.  Fred McGriff and Ken Phelps Game-Used Bats. Both are 35” Louisville Slugger bats. McGriff’s is a two-tone S216 model, and Phelps, an M110. Both have the player’s uniform number on the knob. The McGriff bat shows extensive use, with tape on the handle and the back of the barrel missing. The Phelps bat has a minor handle crack and some dead wood below his name.

Lot 185.  Joe DiMaggio, Harmon Killebrew and Billy Williams 16” H&B Mini-Bats. The DiMaggio example, with gold lettering, is ex-m; Killebrew, ex with a stray ink mark at the logo, and Williams, nm-m.

Lot 186.  Baseball Grab Bag: Dizzy Dean 1936 Pin, 1967 Display Box, Cards, Cans, Caps, Etc. Key items in this collection are a 1936 Grape-Nuts Dizzy Dean Winners Club bust membership pin and a 1967 Topps display box. The pressed-metal pin, about 1” in diameter, is ex with a couple of small oxidation spots and displays very nicely. It is an original. The Topps display box is the version with advertising for 1967 Pin-Ups. The lid is separated at the die-cut, and the back left seam of the base is held together with tape on the outside. There is a crease on the lid, a couple of other minor creases, and the print registration is slightly off. Other items include: 3. A ¾” “Natl League Leader” pin recognizing Rogers Hornsby’s .424 batting average, vg, no pinback. 4. 3 ½” Baltimore Orioles mascot pin, Oriole batting, vg+ to ex. 5. 1977 Topps 15-cent display box, f. 6. 1957 Ed-U-Cards Baseball Card Game, 36 cards, 23 written on, rules, original box. 7. Eight 1977 RC Cola cans including Munson and Yount, opened, ex to ex-m. 8. Twelve different Dairy Queen caps, ex. 9. 49 1970s Topps cards, average f. 10. 325+ 1980 Topps cards, average ex, including #265 Yount, 270 Schmidt (2), 280 Perry (2), 406 Molitor, 610 Stargell and 720 Yaz. 11. 33 1950s Topps cards, off condition, including 26 1956 with Ford, Feller Martin, all significantly trimmed. 12. 85+ 1980s-90s cards, some HoFers, average ex-m. Also, a 1958 Street and Smith’s Baseball Yearbook, complete, f. Fun-time collection of more than 500 individual items!

Lot 189.  World Series Pins – 1988 Dodgers, 1998 Padres and 1983 White Sox Phantom. The LA and Chicago pins are mint in their original boxes. Balfour produced the Dodgers pin. The Padres pin is nm-m.

Lot 190.  KC Athletics, LA Dodgers, Reds and White Sox Crossed Bats Pins. The blue on white Los Angeles Dodgers pin is the 1 ¼” version; ex+, pinback missing. The three other pins are 1 ¾”: Chicago White Sox, blue on white, red stitches, ex. Cincinnati Reds, blue lettering, red stitches and bats, vg-ex, no pinback. And Kansas City Athletics, red lettering, blue bats and stitches, vg+.

Lot 191.  34 Chicago White Sox 1959 A.L. Champions 11” x 14” Team Photos. These Colourpicture prints are generally ex-m, with a few in lesser condition and many better. Managed by Hall of Famer Al Lopez, this team fielded such stars as Nellie Fox, Luis Aparicio, Early Wynn, Ted Kluszewski, Norm Cash and Billy Pierce.

Lot 192.  Original Copy of a 1960 Telegram from Charlie Finley Offering to Buy the A’s. In the Dec. 5 telegram, Finley offers “to purchase Mrs. Humes (sic) 52 percent interest of the Kansas City Athletics Baseball Club” for almost $2 million. Finley completed his purchase of the team on Dec. 19. Clean copy of the telegram intended for delivery to Edward L. Vollers at a St. Louis hotel. Vollers was an attorney for the club’s owners.

Lot 193.  Collection of Famous Slugger Bat Banks, Mini Bats and Commemorative Baseballs. More than 100 individual items make up this collection, which includes three complete Louisville Slugger “Famous Slugger Autographs” Baseball Bat Banks. Each bank holds 10 plastic bats. In one bank, the bats represent 10 National League teams, ex-m. In the two other banks, the bats are player models for Mantle, Clemente, Bench, Fosse, Yaz, Oliva, F. Robinson, Aaron, Rose and Kessinger. One is nm with yellow bats, and the other, ex with a mix of white and natural bats. A fourth bank has bats for Carew, Parker, Madlock, R. Jackson, Garvey and Lynn; four bats are missing, ex. There are 32 commemorative or facsimile baseballs. Fotoball produced colorful baseballs commemorating or featuring Wheaties All-Stars (Mark McGwire, Ken Griffey Jr., Chuck Knoblauch), McGwire’s 1998 home run performance (Making History), Sammy Sosa’s 66 home runs (scuff on Sosa’s image as manufactured), Jose Canseco, the Royals, the Giants’ 40 years in San Francisco, the Indians (brief history on one panel), the Orioles (gold ball with raised logo) and 1998 All-Star Game hosted by the Rockies. Franklin produced a Dodgers ball (1995), a Bobby Bonds signature series ball and a Stamp Fun Stadium Baseball – Wrigley Field. Other subjects are the Marlins’ inaugural year (1993), the 1993 All-Star Game and FanFest in Baltimore and Nolan Ryan’s 5,000th strikeout (facsimile signature). Also, an ONL Coleman ball with the Dodgers’ logo, a Spinneybeck Cooperstown Collection Red Sox ball, a 1988 Sports Products Dodgers logo ball with “Brooklyn” written on, a 1996 Caring Team 5th Anniversary ball with facsimile signature of Barry Larkin and Cecil Fielder, a red ball with gold stitching and a Babe Ruth Shrine plastic base, three Official League balls, a heavily used ball with no pre-printed areas showing, a Nature Company ball with frogs, a heavily decorated ball for the Henry Ford Museum and facsimile-signed balls for the Braves (2 diff.), Reds and Yankees. Almost all of these 32 balls are nm or better. Fifteen mini bats 12”-18” long represent George Brett, the Louisville Slugger Museum (2); Cooperstown, the Baseball HoF or both (4 diff.), Carolina Tar Heels, Babe Ruth Birthplace (Baltimore), LA Dodgers (and Sports Illustrated), the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, “Put Ron Carmicle to Bat for ABC in 1983” (2), the 1996 All-Star Game (Phils, 14” peppermill bat) and an apparent fiesta. There are four 9” bats, one of each, red, white, blue and natural. Twenty-one baseball bat pens, six of them made of wood, promote Gallaudet U (3), the HoF, the Sporting News (2), Babe Ruth (2), TCMA, LA Dodgers (2), Chase Bank (4), Robin Yount, Johnny Bench, the St. Louis Sports HoF, Coca-Cola and Southwest Airlines. Nm. Finally, there are nine key chains for Hillerich & Bradsby (2), the LA Dodgers, Pete Rose (5) and Steve Garvey (2). They average nm. Fun collection with good break-up value. Proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit the Society for American Baseball Research.

Lot 194.  5 Unused ONL Baseballs – 3 Bobby Brown, 2 Giamatti. The Brown baseballs show light, light-moderate and moderate toning, while one Giamatti ball has a couple of stray marks, and the other exhibits light-moderate toning. All in their original boxes.

Lot 195.  St. Louis Cardinals Memorabilia – Pennant, T-Shirt, Programs. The collection consists of a 1985 World Champions T-shirt (large, nm-m), a full-sized 1985 World Champions pennant with players’ names inside a banner (ex-m+ with several pin holes) and one spring training scorecard each for 1985, 1986 and 1987 (nm, owner’s name on the cover of 1987).
