Baseball Cards, Display Boxes   114 Lots       »

Lot 251.  1889 E.R. Williams Baseball Game Card. This is one of the “play” cards from the seldom-seen 19th century game. In this case, it’s “Batter out at 1st Advancing Runners (if any) one base each.” The card exhibits some very minor paper loss, front and back. Two vintage crossed bats are in the center of the card, and it looks far better than its g grade. Here is an affordable example of a baseball type card with exceptional period graphics.
Winning Bid $30.

Lot 252.  Circa 1900 Post Card of Green’s Nebraska Indian Baseball Team. This vintage postcard features a black and white team photograph accompanied by the text: “Only ones on Earth. Winning Bid $55.

Lot 253.  1901-1917 Police Gazette Supplements of Sam Crawford, Larry Doyle. The Crawford supplement is #1926 from 1914, and Doyle, #2011 from 1916. Technically vg primarily because of a couple of folds, they are very clean and display extremely well.
Winning Bid $92.

Winning Bid $538.

Winning Bid $125.

Lot 258.  1911 T201 Mecca Double Folders of Patsy Doughertry, Harry Lord. Felt by many to be the most difficult card in the set, this desirable copy grades vg-ex with a small bit of paper loss at the bottom of the reverse.
Winning Bid $83.

Lot 259.  “Turkey Red” Cigarettes Coupon for T3s. Don’t try to redeem it. The offer expired on June 30, 1911. This was one of the coupons used to order T3s. If you sent in 10, you had your choice from the list on the reverse. The first 75 “Prominent Base Ball Players and Athletes” appear there. The coupon itself grades g and looks better.
Winning Bid $25.

Lot 260.  Scarce Pre-Linen Postcard of Columbia Park in Philadelphia. Columbia Park was home to the Philadelphia A’s 1901-08 and the Phillies for 16 games in 1903. Nice vg with some surface loss in the lower right corner.
Winning Bid $212.

Lot 261.  2 Cleveland Indians League Park II Pre-Linen Postcards. The first,”Interior, American League Base Ball Park, Cleveland,” was mailed in 1912, and the message refers to the upcoming season opener. This card has #18600 and Cleveland, Ohio, on the back. G+ with minor back damage where the recipient’s name was removed. Nice front. The second shows the park as viewed from center field. It’s numbered 98 and R-51581, and Braun and American Art are identified. Vg-ex.
