Lot 275. 1936 Pittsburgh Sun-Telegraph with Uncataloged Baseball Stamps, DiMaggio Photo. The newspaper’s sports section from July 7, 1936 features a large photograph of “Freshman Ace” Joe DiMaggio with Joe McCarthy. Equally interesting, the same page contains two uncataloged 1936 Sun-Telegraph Sport Stamps . The players are Earl Averill and Joe Vosmik. This is the first time we’ve seen these stamps and the first we’ve seen any of these stamps still in place in the newspaper.
