Lot 45.  Blank-Backed 1909-1911 T206 of Revelle, Richmond. Blank -backed T206s are extremely rare and much sought after. This example looks great, with strong color and image. Only some corner rounding and an inoffensive crease in the lower right limit the grade to vg. Revelle is a Southern Leaguer.
Winning Bid $321.

Lot 47.  1910-11 M116 Sporting Life Ed Walsh (Chicago). This card of the Hall of Famer is well centered with distinct and powerful colors. The reverse has an inoffensive small piece of tape and a small amount of paper loss. The front has a slight crease. Taking all these factors into account, it is truly a shame that this otherwise spectacular card technically grades f-g. A nm copy is valued at $1,600 according to the Sports Collectors Digest 2007 Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards. We’ll start the bidding at less than 5% of that amount.
Winning Bid $92.

Lot 48.  1911 M110 Sporting Life Cabinet of Chase. One of the tougher “type” cards to come by. The card grades p due to staining, chipping and tears. A very affordable example at our MB $100.
Winning Bid $148.

Lot 49.  1912 M113 Baseball Magazine Premium “The New York Giants Champions of the National League.” The team stands in a single straight line in this panoramic view. Winning Bid $592.

Lot 50.  1913 Fatima Chicago Americans Team Card. As is common with this thin-paper issue, creasing and chipping make is technically g. As is also common, it looks better than the grade indicates.

The May 26 issue features a Jo Hochmann sketch, No. 3, titled “Babe” Ruth, Slugging Outfielder of The Yankees.” It’s on page 17 of the 24-page publication. The unusually nice issue has an ex+ appearance with a couple of minor tears at the top, and the page with Ruth, technically vg-ex, appears at least ex. Wonderful Ruth image.
Winning Bid $198.

Lot 53.  1927 W560 Babe Ruth NM. This is the nicest example of a W560 Ruth that we have seen. The Babe, wearing a Yankees’ cap, is smiling, and you will be too when you see this exceptional card.
Winning Bid $477.

Lot 54.  1933 Sports Kings #1 Ty Cobb. This card grades f with multiple creases. The image of Cobb is pleasing. Here is an opportunity to acquire a very significant card at a reasonable price. SCD’s 2007 Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards lists the card in nm at $2800. We’re going to start this one out at less than 5% of that amount.
Winning Bid $273.

The card has also been skinned, leaving only the layer of paper that shows the image of Ruth on the front. The card is authentic and grades p. The image of Ruth is strong. In nm condition, the 2007 Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards values the card at $11,350.
Winning Bid $134.
