Lot 545. Washington, D.C., Vintage Photo Collection – Colorized Photos and Portfolios. Eight colorized photos of various sizes are part of this collection. Two different capture the U.S. Capitol. Each is about 6” x 8” and nm. Two 8” x 10” photos and one 5” x 7” show the Lincoln Memorial, with cherry blossoms in the foreground. Ex-m. One of the 8 x 10s has a blurred image, which may or may not have been photographed or printed that way for artistic effect. Two other photos, one 8” x 10” and one 7” x 9”, show light colorization. The larger image is of the White House, and the smaller, the Washington Monument with cherry blossoms in the foreground. There also is a 7” x 9” color photo of the Jefferson Memorial. These photos are framed, but we could ship them unframed. The glass on the photo with the Washington Monument is cracked, and we can either unframe the photo or ship it as it. Two portfolios contain undated, offset-printed black & white photos, possibly from 1940s or earlier negatives. One portfolio comprises “Ten Beautiful Aero Views of Washington, D.C.” by Nesco Prints. Each photo is about 9.25” x 12” (6.25” x 8.5” image area). The Capitol, the White House, Mount Vernon and other areas in and around the city are shown. Ex-m to nm. The “Washington Portfolio” consists of 32 b&w 8.5” x 11” photos (7” x 9.25” image area) by Thomas N. White. Washington buildings, monuments and some geologic formations are pictured. Ex to ex-m.
