Jaromir Jagr Autographed 8” x 10” Color Photo and a Matt Cooke Signature.
Lot 329. Jaromir Jagr Autographed 8” x 10” Color Photo and a Matt Cooke Signature. Jagr is a Pittsburgh Penguins left winger in this nm+ color photo. He played for Pittsburgh from 1990-91 through 2000-01. His autograph is bold, mint 9 to gem mint 10 with “68,” his uniform number added. The autograph has a slight retrace on the first “J” by Jagr. Almost certainly, Jagr began writing with a defective writing device and replaced it with one that enabled him to apply a strong, sharp signature. Still playing hockey at age 50, Jagr is among the greatest players not in the Hall of Fame. (He is ineligible because he is still playing professional hockey.) He is second on the NHL’s all-time points list, behind only Wayne Gretzky, with 1921 points. He played in the NHL for at least some part of 24 seasons. In 1990, at age 18, he was the NHL’s youngest player. In 2017, at 45, he was the league’s oldest. More recently, he has played in Czechoslovakia, where he is also the team owner. In the NHL, he was a 13-time All-Star, earned the Art Ross Trophy five times, the Lester B. Pearson Award (now the Ted Lindsay Award) three times and the Hart Memorial Trophy once. Matt Cooke’s autograph is gem mint 10 on an nm 8” x 10” color photo. He was a Penguins right winger from 2008-09 through 2012-13. PSA/DNA Pre-Certified. Winning Bid $25.
