Lot 316. 1952 St. Louis Browns at New York Yankees Program. The cover of the 24-page program proclaims Yank2ee Stadium “Home of Champions” and lists the Yankees’ championships from 1921 through 1951. Their 1951 World Series title was their third straight. The 1952 Yankees made it four in a row. The program is vg+, clean and sharp with a crease on the front cover. Names have been added to the scorecard, which has the top half of the first inning scored in pencil. Future Hall of Fame names are plentiful in the lineups and rosters – Phil Rizzuto, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Johnny Mize, Bill Dickey (coach) and Casey Stengel for the Yankees and Satchel Paige, an All-Star in 1952, for the Browns. The program recognizes Stengel for his success as the Yankees’ manager and presents an All-Time Yankee Team to mark the Bronx Bombers’ 50th season in the American League.
