Lot 393. Non-Sport Memorabilia and Cards Spanning 1917 to World War II and Beyond! 1. A 1917 “Half Coupon” for Duke’s Mixture Smoking Tobacco. A “Partial List of Presents” is provided on one side. Ex-m. 2. An undated $5 three-panel ticket for “One Airplane Flight” at Keystone Flying Field in Philadelphia. Apparently used, the ticket is glued to a paper backing. The front has a vg appearance. 3. Oct. 4, 1940 ticket stub for a Republican Rally at Shibe Park in Philadelphia with presidential candidate Wendell Willkie as the speaker. Vg, crease in the upper left corner. 4-6. Three matchbook covers from World War II. “Remember Pearl Harbor” is the message of one from a New Jersey café. Another notes that “Spreading false rumors is SABOTAGE,” and a third, with illustrations of Mussolini, Tojo and Hitler, encourages Americans to “Work to crush the Axis!” All three promote War Bonds. Matches removed, matchcovers opened, vg. 7-10. Four envelopes with mailings to an individual from 1903-10. Two contain solicitations from a Philadelphia manufacturing company for individuals to “write” letters “from a copy we furnish” supporting the company’s products. Writers are offered $20 per 1,000 letters. The other envelopes have a handwritten invitation to a 1902 meeting and a 1910 document from New-York Life Insurance Co. 11. An invitation to a 1906 wedding in Shelbina, MO. Folded horizontally for mailing; otherwise, ex. 12. 1950s Henry Fonda b&w card, vg-ex. 13. 1950 Challenge of the Yukon, Sgt. Preston #20, ex+. 14. 1950s Challenge of the Yukon, Dog series, Airedale, blank-back, nm-m. Winning Bid $15.
