Lot 268. 18 Checks Signed by Pro or College Hall of Fame Members – Bell, Jordan, Rozelle, Trafton, Etc. Two of the signers are former NFL Commissioners, and both are in the Pro HoF – (Bert) de Benneville Bell (1946-59) and Pete Rozelle (1960-89). Five checks are autographed by players in both the Pro and College Halls of Fame: Sam Baugh, Charles P. Bednarik. R. David Robinson, Joseph Schmidt and Charley Trippi. One player is in only the College HoF: Charley Conerly Jr. And the rest are enshrined at Canton: Herb A. Adderley, Roosevelt Brown Jr., Henry W. Jordan, Ron Mix, Lenny Moore, Ernie Stautner, Hank Stram, George E. Trafton, Robert Waterfield and Willie Wood. All but Bell (Philadelphia Eagles 1937 check) and Rozelle (NFL check) signed personal checks. All signed on the check front. The signatures are nm-m 8 and better. Processing stamps slightly impinge on the Baugh, Adderley and Waterfield autographs. Only four of these signers are living: Mix, Moore, Robinson and Schmidt. PSA/DNA Pre-Certified. Winning Bid $294.
