Stabler was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016. In 1974, he was the NFL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year. In 1977, he led Oakland to a decisive win over Minnesota in Super Bowl XI. He made the Pro Bowl roster four times, led the NFL in passing touchdowns and completion percentage twice and in passer rating once. He was named to the league’s 1970s All-Decade Team. In 1976, he earned the Bert Bell Award, given each year by the Maxwell Football Club to the NFL’s Player of the Year. Stabler died in 2015.
