Lot 323. 33 Hockey Autographs – 2 HoFers – Mark Messier and Teemu Selanne – on Hockey Cards. Each of the Hall of Fame stars signed a 1997 Pinnacle card – Messier #111, mint 9 to gem mint 10 signature, and Selanne, #LTH-1B, nm-m 8, strong on a somewhat dark background. Two other players also autographed 1997 Pinnacle cards – Marc Bergevin, #85, mint 9, and Brad McCrimmon, #168, nm 7 to nm-m 8. Ten autographs are on 1996 Upper Deck cards that were issued autographed; the signatures are generally nm-m 8: Craig Billington, S151; Zdeno Ciger, S137; Rene Corbet, S78; Peter Douris, S25; Randy Ladouceur, S37; Grant Ledyard, S104; Teppo Numminen (2), S68; David Oliver, S64; and Jozef Stompel, S208. Upper Deck offered two other cards with signatures in 1995: Sylvain Lefebvre, #41, and Jimmy Waite, #126; both autographs are nm-m 8 to mint 9. Seven cards are 1994 Signature Rookies, and two are from 1995. Most of these autographs are nm-m 8 to mint 9: 1994, Yannick Dube, #3 (3 signed cards); Deron Quint, #26; and Brad Symes, #45 (3). And 1995, Chad Allan, #1, and Mike Martin, #16. Five cards came from Classic Games with autographs: 1992, Doug Zmolek, mint 9; 1994-95, Jeff Friesen, #3155 of 6145, mint 9, and Brett Hauer, #1618 of 1930, nm-m 8 to mint 9; 1994, Jason Bonsignore, #1970 of 2450, mint 9; and 1995, Blaine Lacher, #668 of 1500, mint 9 to gem mint 10. Martin Straka signed 1992 Classic Draft Picks card #33 after it was issued, mint 9. The two other autographs are by Francois Leroux, 1990 Score #393, mint 9 to gem mint 10, and Tomi Kallio, 2001 In the Game Signature Series, gem mint 10; Kallio spent most of his 20+ seasons in Europe’; in the NHL, he played for Atlanta, Columbus and Philadelphia.
