He was inducted with a 165-87 career record, a .655 winning percentage (.733 from 1961-66), a 2.76 ERA (five ERA titles from 1961-66), four strikeout titles and four no-hitters, including a perfect game. “The Sporting News” listed him 26th on its 1998 list of “Baseball’s 100 Greatest Players.” Only seven other pitchers and Babe Ruth ranked higher.
