Carey, Feller and Gehringer Signed 1956-63 Artvue Hall of Fame B&W Plaque Postcards.

Lot 101. Carey, Feller and Gehringer Signed 1956-63 Artvue Hall of Fame B&W Plaque Postcards. Max Carey’s autograph is mint 9 at the bottom of the card. He was the center fielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates 1910-26 and then played for the Brooklyn Robins 1926-29, led the NL in stolen bases 10 times, batted .285 and entered the Hall of Fame in 1961. He died in 1976. Bob Feller placed an ex-m 6 blue sharpie signature at the top of the card; it is strong, with much of his surname against the black background of the plaque. After his outstanding pitching career with the Cleveland Indians, Feller was elected to the HoF in 1961, the first year he was eligible. He was No. 36 on “The Sporting News” 1998 list of “Baseball’s 100 Greatest Players” and posted a 266-162 career record that likely would have included 300 wins if he had not lost more than three seasons to winning battle stars while serving in World War II. He died in 2010. The autograph of Chas. Gehringer is mint 9 to gem mint 10 at the bottom of his card. The second baseman for the Detroit Tigers batted .320 over 19 seasons, won the AL MVP award and batting championship in 1937 and was always excellent defensively. He became a member of the HoF in 1949, and “TSN” placed him 46th on its list of the 100 best. He died in 1993. PSA/DNA Pre-Certified. Minimum Bid $75.
