The Elvira Collection – 7 Comics, 3 Posters, 5 Calendars and a Model of the Model.

Lot 713. The Elvira Collection – 7 Comics, 3 Posters, 5 Calendars and a Model of the Model. In the early 1980s, Cassandra Peterson, showgirl, singer, writer, actress and radio personality, became “Elvira, Mistress of the Night” and the host a Los Angeles TV program featuring horror or thriller movies. Her popularity soon grew beyond Los Angeles, especially in the 1980s and 1990s, and she remains a popular entertainment figure. A 24” x 60” poster with a large image of Elvira advertises her 1988 movie, “Elvira: Mistress of the Dark” and offers a Valentine Day trip to Hollywood. With some edge creases, the poster is rolled and displays nicely, with an ex-m appearance. A standard movie poster, 26.5” x 41”, also promotes the movie. It has two horizontal and three vertical folds. It also displays well. Peterson also appears as Elvira in an 8.5” x 13.5” poster with “Yours Cruelly” above her facsimile signature, vg+. The calendars are for 1988 (11.75” x 16.5”, still partially wrapped in the original plastic and ex), and 1990, 1991 (2) and 1992. The 1990s calendars are unopened and unused, apparently open to 12” x 24” and are nm or better. Five comics are from DC, one from Marvel and one from Claypool Comics. DC created “Elvira’s House of Mystery,” and the issues here are #1 from 1985 and 4, 5, 8 and 11 from 1986. Marvel’s offering, “Elvira Mistress of the Dark,” Vol. 1, No. 1 from 1988, is a trade paperback with a color cover and b&w pages. The May 1993 “Elvira Mistress of the Dark” comic, Vol. 1, No. 1, also has b&w pages inside a color cover. These comics are fine to very fine. The 16.5” vinyl figure in the 1988 “Elvira: Mistress of the Dark Model Kit” has been assembled and painted and, after 33 years, is ready for some vinyl surgery and time with a paint cosmetologist. The instructions are present, and the box is complete and vg. Minimum Bid $40.
