Lot 638. Football, Hockey and Non-Sport Collection. 1. Manon Rhéaume limited-edition poster with her in goal for the Atlanta Knights. The 17.5” x 23.5” poster, number 3367 of 5,000, is vg-ex. The Knights were a team in the International Hockey League from 1992-96. On April 10, 1993, Rhéaume became the first woman to play in regular-season professional hockey game. The appearance also made her the first female to play in a major North American pro sports league. 2-3. Two copies of a 1983 calendar titled “A Century of All-Americas.” Mercedes Benz produced the 14.5” x 22” calendar, apparently to support Multiple Sclerosis research. Each calendar page has a 13.5” x 15” area with individual b&w photos of 25 or more All-Americas. Two pages each are devoted to quarterbacks, halfbacks and ends; and one page each to fullbacks, tackles, guards, centers, defense and coaches. Each page has a featured player or coach – Sammy Baugh, Roger Staubach, Red Grange, Dick Kazmaier, Don Hutson, Fred Biletnikoff, Bruiser Kinard, Bob Suffridge, Chuck Bednarik, Alan Page and Frank Leahy. One copy is bound and vg+ to ex, and the other is unbound and ex. 4. Mercedes Benz also produced a 14.5” x 22” Olympics calendar for the benefit of Multiple Sclerosis titled “1984: The Games 1896-1980.” Ex. Like the football calendar above, each page has a large area for photos. In this case, each page has 11 or more photos, some in color, and each represents a different Olympic category. Featured athletes include Sonja Heine, Eric Heiden, Sonia Tyus, Jesse Owens, Bob Hayes, Parry O’Brien, Johnny Weissmuller, George Foreman and Nadia Comaneci. Ex+ with a slight scuff along the left edge of the cover. 5-8. Four publications, three from “The Sporting News”: Centennial Issue, Feb. 28, 1986, covers detached and present, pages ex-m. Pro and college football issue, Sept. 1, 1987, vg+ to ex. Feb. 6, 1989 issue, no front or back covers, ex pages. And “The National Sports Daily,” Feb. 1, 1990, Mike Tyson cover, vg+ to ex. 9-18. Ten student book covers from Mister Softee, two different designs, approximately 13” x 19”, vg-ex. Minimum Bid $20.
