8 Different Kentucky Derby or Churchill Downs Stuffed Toy Horses.

Lot 618. 8 Different Kentucky Derby or Churchill Downs Stuffed Toy Horses. Six horses were sold in conjunction with four Runs for the Roses, No. 123-126 for 1997-2000. The winners of these races were Silver Charm, Real Quiet, Charismatic and Fusaichi Pegasus. Three of these horses won the first two legs of the Triple Crown. Two sizes of horses are among the first six; the large variety is about 11” long and 9” tall, and the small, about 7.5” long and 4.5” tall. Each has a saddle blanket with the number or date of the Derby, or both: 1997 (123), large brown horse with a reddish-brown mane; 1998 (124), large horse, gray with a black mane; 1999 (125), one large, gray with a black mane, and one small, black with a white mane; and 2000 (126), two small horses, one brown with a black mane, and one dark brown with a lighter brown mane. Another horse, “Churchill Charlie,” is upright, 8” tall, and wears a “”Churchill Downs” shirt. And a “musical horse,” about 10.5” long and 8.5” tall, is light brown with a white mane and wears a small “Churchill Downs” device that apparently plays “Bluegrass Traditions” music. The device is not working. These horses are nm-m, and most have their original Kentucky Derby or Churchill Downs tags. The three large horses claim to talk, but only one does. An enjoyable little collection for children and horse lovers of all ages. Winning Bid $10.
