Lot 525. 12 Pin-Up Postcards – 11 Featuring Bettie Page, 3 with Bunny Yeager Photos. All of the 3.5” x 5.5” postcards are different. Page is widely regarded as the “Queen of Pinups.” In 1947, several years after graduating from college, she moved to New York in search of an acting career. Instead, she found fame as a pinup model. By 1954, she was already widely recognized when she met photographer and model Bunny Yeager while on vacation in Florida. Yeager signed Page for a photo session, took more than 1,000 photos and then submitted some to Hugh Hefner at his recently created magazine “Playboy.” Hefner made Page “Miss January” for 1955 and, later that year, she was named “Miss Pinup Girl of the World.” Three photos of Page are by H. W. Hannau, a photographer known for his images of New York buildings. Also included is a 3.5” x 5” color photo. Two cards have minor writing on the back; otherwise, the range from ex to ex-m with strong photos. Winning Bid $30.
