Tom Fears and (Elroy) Crazylegs Hirsch Autographs on a Numbered Print – 390 of 500.

Lot 466. Tom Fears and (Elroy) Crazylegs Hirsch Autographs on a Numbered Print – 390 of 500. Playing end for the Los Angeles Rams, Fears and Hirsch were one of the NFL’s best receiver duos of the 1950s. Fears was a member of the Rams from 1948-56, and Hirsch, who also played flanker, from 1949-57. In 1951, they helped the Rams to win the NFL championship. Hirsch led the NFL in receiving yards. Both men played well enough to earn a place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Hirsch in 1968, and Fears, the first Mexican-born player to be inducted, in 1970. Both are in the College Hall of Fame. During his career, Hirsch set receiving records that have been exceeded only a few times in the past 60+ years – despite an increased number of games and other changes in the game. Fears died in 2000, and Hirsch, in 2004. Both HoFers signed the bottom border of the 22” x 27.75” ex-m+ print in pencil. Their autographs are mint 9 to gem mint 10. The print has JSA label 138757. Winning Bid $25.
