Lot 442. 4 1950s Programs - 2 Featuring the Cleveland Browns and 2 Others, the Chicago Bears. The Browns programs are both from 1955, and the two Bears programs, from 1955 and 1958. The 1955 Browns were NFL Champions, while the Bears narrowly finished second in the Western Division. The 1958 Bears were again runners-up in their conference. 1. Oct. 9, 1955, Browns vs. the Philadelphia Eagles at Cleveland Stadium. The Browns recorded one of their nine regular-season wins, 21-17. Vg-ex 36-page program with photos of Otto Graham, Lou Groza, Pete Pihos and many others,. 2. October 30, 1955, Browns vs. the Chicago Cardinals at Comiskey Park. Cleveland was victorious again, outscoring the Cardinals, 26-20. Cardinals’ photos include Ollie Matson, Pat Summerall, Charley Trippi and many others. Ex 32-page program. 3. Nov. 13, 1955, Bears vs. Los Angeles Rams at Wrigley Field. In this game, the Bears beat the Rams 24-3. It was their second win of the seasons over the West Coast team, but Los Angeles wound up as the Western Conference champion because of a tie game. Chicago finished the season with an 8-4 record. Los Angeles clinched the conference title with an 8-3-1 season. The week after their loss to the Bears, the Rams battled Baltimore to a 17-17 tie. They lost to the Cleveland Browns in the NFL title game. Vg-ex 56-page program with numerous photos, some used in the 1955 Bowman and 1956 Topps football card sets. 4. Oct. 4, 1958 Bears vs. the Baltimore Colts at Baltimore Memorial Stadium. Baltimore won, 51-38. The Colts continued to have success, winning the NFL Western Conference Championship with a 9-3 record and then defeating the New York Giants in overtime in the NFL Championship Game, 23-17. The televised game became known as “The Greatest Game Ever Played.” The 50-page program is vg+. Winning Bid $35.
