Dizzy Dean Autographed Photo.

Lot 180. Dizzy Dean Autographed Photo. Dean personalized his signature on this 8” x 10” photo, which is a quality print. The autograph is large and clear, with Dean adding “Pitching for Falstaff.” The photo has several pin holes in the top and bottom borders, a ¾” tear at the left, about an inch above the bottom border, and a number of creases, primarily on the left side. The autograph is mint 9. “The Sporting News” ranked Dean 85th on its list of Baseball’s 100 Greatest Players. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1953. After his playing career ended, Dean worked as a broadcaster for the Cardinals, Browns, Yankees, Atlanta Braves, Mutual Broadcaster, ABC and CBS. He became famous for his humor and excellence in mangling English. He died in 1974. Winning Bid $125.
