Lot 433. President Franklin D. and Eleanor Roosevelt Memorabilia. One of the unusual and especially uncommon items in the collection of photos, publications and other paper items is a 1942 comic titled “The Life of Franklin D. Roosevelt” and produced by the U.S. Government. The 20-page comic is ex with a stamp from a high school showing lightly on the front cover. The story of his life is presented in greater detail in the “Roosevelt Album,” a 92-page pulp-magazine format publication, by A. J. Ezickson. G-vg. Another key publication is the official program for Roosevelt’s 1941 inauguration. It is nm in the original, unused ex mailing envelope. There also are three numbered vehicle passes for his 1937 inauguration, vg to vg-ex. The President is shown in two 8” x 10” photos, and Mrs. Roosevelt, in one. A vintage U.S. Army Signal Corps photo captures the President in a thoughtful pose at his desk; g. He is also shown signing a document in a reproduction photo. Eleanor Roosevelt is in an original 1940 AP wire photo with actress Mary Pickford as she appeals for help in the campaign against polio. G+ with editing marks. Other items in this collection are: 1. A 1945 Carnegie Hall program with a photo of the President on the cover, vg. 2. A booklet on the Little White House in Georgia, vg-ex. 3. Three 6.25” x 9” Franklin D. Roosevelt cigar labels, two nm and one vg. 4. 1939 White House pass. 5. 1936 card 6” x 8” with an image of the White House from President and Mrs. Roosevelt to the Associated Country Women of the World, f. 6. Matchbook cover with a portrait of the President. 7. April 28, 1935 D.C. “Sunday Star” page with a photo of the Roosevelts, f-g. 8. Softcover book, “Weep no more, My Lady: A Southerner Answers Mrs. Roosevelt’s Report on the ‘Poor and Unhappy’ South,” W. E. Debnam, 1950, vg+. 9. An article by Mrs. Roosevelt, in the May 14, 1944 “This Week,” vg-ex. Twenty collectibles!
