Lot 362. Greg Louganis Signed 1995 Book, “Breaking the Surface.” This book, ex in a similar dust jacket, spent five weeks at No. 1 on the “New York Times” Best Seller List. Louganis won a total of four gold medals in the diving competition at the 1984 and 1988 Olympics. His success in 1984 earned him the James E. Sullivan Award, presented by the Amateur Athletic Union to the most outstanding amateur athlete in the U.S. He is only the second diver, and the first male, to sweep the diving events at consecutive Olympics. He was one of only two swimmers or divers named to ESPN’s list of the 20th century’s top 100 athletes. His autograph, which is personalized, is nm-m 8 on the book’s title page.
