Lot 279. 1996 Legislative Resolution for the “Shoeless Joe Jackson Memorial Parkway.” In 1996, the South Carolina House of Representative passed a resolution concurrent with the state senate requesting “that the Department of Transportation designate and name a portion of United Sates Highway 123 in Greenville County … as the ‘Shoeless Joe Jackson Memorial Parkway’ and to install appropriate markers or signs….” The three-page resolution contains information on Jackson’s life and career. It has an autopen signature of David H. Wilkins, Speaker of the South Carolina House, and an actual signature of Sandra K. McKinney, Clerk of the House.
