Lot 11. 2 Scarce 1880s “Brownies Series” Baseball Cards – Oversized Version and Flat Cap. Both varieties are less common than the H804-2A issues. The H804-2B large card – titled “Judgment!” – is 4.5” x 6.5” and has “B345” in the lower left. The back is blank and shows evidence of life in a scrapbook. The front grades f-g. The Flat Cap card, designated H804-2C,” replicates “A ‘Panic-er!’’ except that the brownies wear flat caps, instead of caps with points, and the trees and grandstand are missing from the background. There is not title, and the card is approximately 3 1/8” x 4 5/8” as issued. It has advertising on the back. Vg+.

Lot 13. 2 Circa 1905-09 PC792 Embossed Baseball Postcards. From a set of six, one card shows a batter beginning his swing. It has three pin holes at the top and otherwise is g-vg. The other, with a batter, catcher and umpire and another player in the background, is f-g. These untitled cards have an eagle on the back. Both have messages on the back and a postmark. One back is divided (batter), and one is not.

Lot 14. 1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel Tommy Leach. This card has been laminated. Otherwise, it has a small hole on the left side next to Leach’s collar and various heavy creases. Poor, with or without the lamination.

Lot 15. 2 1909 PC798-24 “Boston Baseball Series” Comic Postcards by O. D. Williams. These colorful and entertaining cards are from a set of 12. Offered here are #105 “Hey! Youse watch me swipe it,” f-g, and #111 “I may be a little dusty but dey aint no flies on me,” g. The title is missing from the latter card, and in the blank space, someone has written in pencil, “Oh you Honus Wag(ner).” It is signed “Charlie.” One card is postmarked 1909, and the other, 1910.

Lot 18. 1909-11 T206 Card of George Schirm. This card is about 1/32” short top-to-bottom. Otherwise, it is vg. We see no evidence of trimming.

Baseball Magazine Poster of the “Pittsburgh ‘Pirates’ – 1927 Pennant Winners.” Among these Pirates, who faced the New York Yankees in the World Series, are six future members of the Hall of Fame – Paul and Lloyd Waner, Pie Traynor, Joe Cronin, Kiki Cuyler and owner Barney Dreyfuss. The poster is about 9.5” x 11”, matted and framed to 12.5” x 15.5”. It has an nm appearance as framed.
