Author-Signed Limited First Edition - “Pictorial History of American Sports.” The authors, John Durant and Otto Bettmann, autographed the flyleaf, which points out this book is No. 35 of only 160 issued. Their autographs, authenticated by Kevin Keating, are mint 9. The flyleaf also includes a gift inscription. Subtitled “From Colonial Times to the Present,” the 280-page very limited edition hardback is profusely illustrated. An index helps to make it a useful reference. This copy is ex to ex-m, and its slipcover, g. Bettmann provided the photos for the book. He is said to have “virtually invented the image resource business.”
