Lot 534. Bobble Heads, Figurines and Mugs from Tommy John’s Collection – Paige, Gehrig, Etc. Three bobbing heads and a figurine from the minor leagues are part of this uncommon assortment of 12 items. Bobble Dobbles (Alexander Global Promotions) produced five pieces - nodders of Satchel Paige (2004); Rocky, the mascot of the Memphis Chicks; and a Madison Mallards “Happy Holidays” bobble; and figurines of Mighty Maynard, the Mallards’ mascot, and Lou Gehrig. Nm-m, except for Gehrig; the figurine has a slight crack in his bat and has been repaired at the ankles. The nodder of Paige has him with Cleveland, and his left leg is raised as he prepares to deliver a pitch. All of these figures are about 7.5” tall. There also is an autographed 6.5” bobbing head of Brandon Phillips as a member of the Buffalo Bisons. Phillips played at least part of the 2002-05 seasons with Buffalo. The autographs is mint 9 on the base of the nodder. A stylized 8.25 figure of a young baseball player; a Budweiser pewter mug with a glass bottom and “Tommy” engraved on the back; Star mugs by LK Sports of Andre Dawson and Orel Hersheiser, and a mug apparently made for John in 1982. Generally nm-m. Two signed “Property of Thomas Edward John” labels are included. Autographs authenticated by Kevin Keating.
