Lot 195. Shaquille O’Neal Autographed “Rookie of the Year” Print by Stephen Holland. O’Neal’s pencil signature, authenticated by Kevin Keating, is mint 9 below the 16” x 29” print, which is double-matted and framed to 22.75” x 36.25”. The print, #1425 of 1600, is mint. The future Hall of Fame center, the NBA’s sixth all-time leading scorer, was the league’s top rookie for the 1992-93 season. Holland is one of the country’s most popular and successful sports artists. Noted for his black and white style, he was named Sport Artist of the Year in 1993 by the American Sport Art Museum and Archives.

Lot 197. Scarce “Goose” Tatum Autograph. Tatum played baseball in the Negro Leagues with Satchel Paige before becoming what can legitimately be considered the original “clown prince” of the Harlem Globetrotters. Besides creating numerous comic routines for the court, he invented the hook shot. He was only 45 when he died in 1967. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011. His signature is personalized on a 1.5” x 3” cut apparently taken from an envelope. The signature is nm-m 8 to mint 9 in pencil. The personalization could be matted out, or even erased.
