Lot 381. 21 Cards from Topps Military Sets: 1953 “Fighting Marines” and 1965-66 “Battle.” From a somewhat difficult-to-complete 96-card set, the 12 “Fighting Marines” cards are #1, 4, 6, 7, 21, 22, 32, 33, 38, 40, 41 and 47. They average g-vg. The “Battle” cards are from the U.S. and British version of the set. In the U.S., Topps issued the set with 66 cards in 1965. One card is present from this set, #14 vg-ex. The following year, A. & B.C. Gum issued the set with seven additional cards. Four of the British cards as the same as those in the U.S. set: #23 f, 26 vg, 37 vg-ex and 50 vg. Four are different: #61 British Sailor vg, 62 Australian Soldier vg-ex, 70 The United States Marines g-vg and 73 Checklist (filled in with pencil otherwise) vg.
