Lot 270. 1940s Army-Michigan Photo Signed by Doc Blanchard, Tucker and Foldberg. Led by Blanchard and Glenn Davis, Army won consecutive national championships in 1944 and 1945 with 9-0 records and finished second to Notre Dame in 1946 with nine victories and a tie. The 8” x 10” b&w photo appears to be from the 1945 gamed played in the Bronx; the two teams did not meet in 1944, and they played in Lansing in 1946. It shows game action, with Blanchard carrying the ball. He, Arnold Tucker and Hank Foldberg signed next to their images. Their autographs are mint 9. Blanchard passed away in 2009, and Foldberg in 2001. Both are in the College Hall of Fame. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
