Bob Edwards Signed Copy of “Fridays with Red (Barber): A Radio Friendship.” Barber was a sportscasting pioneer whose folksy style and professional manner influenced generations of broadcasters who followed. He provided baseball play-by-play for four decades, described the action for the first televised baseball game, broadcast the first night game in the majors and helped to establish the pre-game show. After retiring, he provided a weekly commentary for National Public Radio’s “Morning Edition,” which Edwards hosted. He delivered the commentary as part of a conversation with Edwards. In his 1993 book, Edwards describes the radio friendship that he and Barber developed. The book is vg+ to ex, and the dust jacket, ex. Edwards autograph on the title page is mint 9.
