Lot 186. Marvin Miller Signed “A Whole Different Ball Game: The Sport and Business of Baseball.” From1966-83, Miller was executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association. Under his leadership, it became a strong organization. Broadcaster Red Barber called Miller, along with Babe Ruth, “one of the two men…who changed baseball the most.” Miller provides an inside look at baseball in this 1991 apparent first edition. The hardback is ex, and the dust jacket, ex+. Studs Terkel wrote the book’s preface, and Bill James, the introduction. Miller’s signature on the title page is mint 9. He added “Executive Director, Major League Baseball Players Association – 1966-1983.” Miller died in 2012. He remains a strong Hall of Fame candidate. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
