Lot 227. Dan Rooney Autographed Pittsburgh Steelers Cap. In 2000, Rooney joined his father, Art, in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. From 1975-2002, he served as president of the Steelers. He led the effort to have the NFL implement a rule, now known as the “Rooney Rule,” that teams must interview at least one minority candidate for head coaching and general manager vacancies. From 1909-12, he served as U.S. Ambassador to Ireland. He continues to serve as chairman of the Steelers. His signature is nm-m 8 on the bill of the Steelers cap from Reebok.
