Lot 212. Ernie Nevers (HoF) Autograph on an Unlined Index Card. Nevers was one of the early stars of the fledgling National Football League. A star at Stanford and the hero of the 1925 Rose Bowl, he played fullback for the Duluth Eskimos and Chicago Cardinals. In a 1929 game against the Chicago Bears featuring Red Grange, Nevers scored all of the Cardinals’ points in a 40-6 victory. He also played baseball for the St. Louis Browns. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1963. He died in 1976. Authenticated by Kevin Keating, his autograph is mint 9 to gem mint 10. A Sportscaster card with Nevers’ image is included.
