Lot 4. Autographs of Army Football Stars Doc Blanchard and Glenn Davis on Index Cards. Together, they were known as the “Touchdown Twins,” and they won back-to-back Heisman Trophies. Blanchard, “Mr. Inside,” was named the nation’s top college player in 1945, and Davis, “Mr. Outside,” captured the award in 1946. They led Army to three consecutive national championships. Their coach, Red Blaik, called Blanchard “the quickest starter I ever saw” and Davis, “the greatest halfback I ever knew.” Davis died in 2005, and Blanchard, 2009. Their signatures are gem mint 10 on separate unlined index cards, which are accompanied by two modern photos, each showing the Army backfield heroes. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
