The cover of the Sept. 1953 “Police Gazette” wonders “Is Marciano a Dirty Fighter?” It shows Marciano landing an elbow on Jersey Joe Walcott. Ex. Marciano is also on the cover of the May 13, 1955 “Collier’s.” Eight issues of “Ring” are in the collection: Jan. 1938, Tommy Farr cover, vg; Jan. 1941, Fritzie Zivic cover, f-g; Nov. 1955, March 1957, Jan 1974 (Foreman), Dec. 1980, Feb. 1982 (Holmes-Cooney special), Sept. 1983 and Feb. 1984. The more recent “Ring” issues average ex. Six issues from “Sports Illustrated,” four with Muhammad Ali covers, and two with George Foreman: April 23, 1973; June 18, 1973; Dec. 23, 1974; Sept. 16, 1975; Dec. 15, 1975, and Oct. 10, 1977.
