Steelers Collection: Blount, Mansfield, Greenwood Signatures, Swann Print, Memorabilia.
Lot 254. Steelers Collection: Blount, Mansfield, Greenwood Signatures, Swann Print, Memorabilia. This impressive collection includes five double-page photo spreads from 1975 or 1976 issues of “Sports Illustrated.” Two are autographed, one by Mel Blount, and the other by L C Greenwood. Their signatures are well placed and mint 9. Carnell Lake’s autograph is nm 7 to nm-m 8 on a Steelers’ mini-helmet, and Kevin Henry’s is the same on a Steelers’ license plate. A program for a 1990 “Great Gridiron Grudge Match” has the mint 9 autographs of two Steelers, Ray Mansfield and Blount, and two Cleveland Browns, Greg Pruitt and Dave Logan. Kevin Keating authenticated the signatures. Mike Mellett 16” x 20” b&w limited-edition prints of Lynn Swann and John Stallworth are other highlights of this collection. Both are framed, the Swann print without glass. Four McDonald’s glasses are part of the collection, three (two different) marking the Steelers’ Super Bowl XIV triumph and one from 1990 with portraits of Terry Bradshaw, John Henry Johnson and Bill Dudley as Steelers in the Pro Hall of Fame. Bradshaw and Joe Greene are among the players pictured on the Super Bowl glasses. Ex-m+. Also: Six “74 Steelers” bumper stickers; 22 1972 Sunoco stickers picturing Steelers; 23 photos, all 4” x 6” portraits of 1970s Steelers at training camp, including almost all of the top stars except Bradshaw; and a 1996 “Steeler Creatures & Friends” calendar. Steelers’ players, including Greg Lloyd, are pictured with lizards, snakes and a turtle. Excellent collection with strong break-up potential.
Winning Bid $110.
